Liverpool Echo: 13th January 2017 - New Year starts well for Everton, with 49 personal bests!

White leads way with two goals in Leeds  By Joe Coy

Weekend 7/8 January 2017

We got the New Year off to a terrific start taking 17 swimmers to the City of Leeds long course meet on Saturday 7th. The swimmers where from a combination of our junior and youth competitive squads. We thought this would be an ideal opportunity to give our Lancashire qualifiers a tune up before the Lancs at the end of the month. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from the swimmers in attendance, 51 swims in total achieving 48 long course PB’s. We now have a small block of training to negotiate before we take 25 swimmers to Lancs (99 swims in total).

Sunday we competed in Round 3 Merseyside and District junior swimming league Division 1, we came second on the day behind an unfamiliar looking Garston team – congratulations to them on their victory. We are now 2nd in the overall standings with 2 rounds to go.

Established in 1865, Everton Swimming Association celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2015.

ESA is an Amateur Swimming club and is a 100% volunteer run organisation. We train at St Edward’s, Knowsley Leisure & Culture Park and Picton swimming pools.

We pride ourselves in our Club being family orientated, friendly, competitive and we cater for a wide range of abilities from those who have passed a trial to enter the Club to experienced competitive swimmers including an adult Masters section.

The club has eight different training groups from Learn to Swim to Inter-A, enabling swimmers to move through the groups as they develop.
